You can be back to sports activity after 6-8 months after ACL reconstruction but it depends on your rehabilitation process and You need to put efforts on:

  • Dynamic stabilization of knee and core strengthening
  • Functional strengthening of knee
  • Power development of knee muscles
  • Sports performance training of knee.
Criteria to return back to sports activity:
  • Good Quadriceps and Hamstring muscle power
  • Comfortable single leg standing and jumping on operated leg
  • Anterior Laxity of knee is comparable to opposite knee
  • Absence of effusion
  • Full knee ROM
  • Normal patellar mobility,
  • No or only slight patellar crepitus,
  • Painless activities without swelling.
